Project in  Argentina

2003. Extracting Lindano (Gamexane)  and contaminated soil from a secret burial - La Argentina (Provincia de Santiago del Estero, Argentina)

Desler SA formed part, as in situ operator, of the project along with the Cámara de la Industria Química y Petroquímica, and Tredi S.A. (nowadays Sèchè Environnement), that was responsible for treatment.

Processes covered:

• Removing 200 Tons of substances (30 Tons of Lindano and 170 Tons of contaminated soil)
• Packing in UN Class I barrels.
• Adapting for transportation in special containers for sea shipments following IMO standards and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code. 
• Loading and land transportation to the port in Buenos Aires.
• Dispatching the substances that were removed according to the Convenio de Basilea regarding hazardous waste across boarders.
• Sending the contaminated substances to Europe for treatment and final deposition.
